Flight: Singapore Airlines SQ 183
From: Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) To: Singapore (SIN)
I flew with Singapore Airlines from Ho Chi Minh City to Singapore, which was the first of three flights to London.
I compared flight options with Momondo using the multi-city flight option. This wasn’t the cheapest option but I preferred to fly through Singapore with a combination of Star Alliance airlines.
My last Singapore Airlines flight was last year from Singapore to Saigon and I was happy to be starting the trip with an airline I enjoy flying.
As I was connecting in Singapore to a SWISS flight to Zurich and London, I wasn’t able to check in online. I managed to pick a seat at least, but for the other flights my seats were preselected and I couldn’t change them.
Singapore Airlines flies A330 or 777 aircraft to destinations around Asia. I like the A330 flight as economy is in a 2-4-2 configuration. Smaller destinations are served by SilkAir, which is Singapore Airlines brand for regional Asia flights.
Upon boarding there are free newspapers available from Singapore, Vietnam, and the US.
The pre-takeoff hot towel service is always a nice touch.
The scheduled flying time is 2 hours, though actual flying time is about 1h 40m.
Silverkris is the inflight magazine of Singapore Airlines.
Krisworld is the separate magazine for inflight entertainment. At such a short flight I didn’t bother to start watching a movie.
A late lunch/early dinner is served on this flight, and I got the chicken pasta option.
Overall this was another good flight with Singapore Airlines and I look forward to flying with them again.
