Hotel Review: Red Planet Hotel, Pattaya – Thailand

February 1, 2025 By James Clark

Hotel Review: Red Planet Hotel, Pattaya - Thailand

Hotel review of Red Planet Pattaya – a chain budget hotel on the Second Road in Pattaya.

Hotel Name: Red Planet Pattaya.
Address: 255/7 Moo 9, Sai 2 Road, Banglamung, Pattaya, Thailand.

I stayed at the Red Planet Pattaya in Pattaya, Thailand. I booked online at the rate of $21.92 USD per night, and I booked it for its price and location in Pattaya.

Red Planet Pattaya is located on Pattaya Second Road, which is the first main road inland after the beach road. It is 450 metres walk from the beach via Pattaya Soi 4 (6 minutes according to Google Maps). Anywhere beyond the Second Road starts getting a bit too far to walk to the beach. I have a more detailed guide about where to stay in Pattaya.

I have previously stayed a Red Planet hotel in Bangkok, so I knew what to expect. The hotel offers simple and clean budget hotels.

The first good impression I had of Red Planet Pattaya was that it’s wheelchair friendly. Budget hotels in Thailand are an obstacle course for mobility challenged, so it would be nice to see more of this. I saw a guest in a wheelchair while I was there.

I arrived early so I left my bags here before being able to check in.

There are drink vending machines in the lobby area.

I booked a Standard Double Room. I liked that the room had air-conditioning and a fan. The fan was enough for the evening.

The bed was comfortable with power outlets and tables on either side. There is free wifi throughout the hotel but I had a poor connection in my room during my stay.

The room was small but it was designed in a way to be not feel cluttered.

The bathroom had a decent shower with fast hot water system.

Overall this was a good budget hotel stay in Pattaya (apart from the wifi while I was there). Book the Red Planet Pattaya online or search for more hotels in Pattaya.

Here is my Pattaya trip report from a previous visit.
