Guesthouse Review: Villa Philaylack, Luang Prabang – Laos

May 25, 2022 By James Clark

Villa Philaylack

Guesthouse Name: Villa Philaylack.
Address: Watthat Village, Koksack Road, Luang Prabang, Laos.

I stayed at Villa Philaylack in Luang Prabang. I booked online at the rate of $12.61 USD per night, and I booked it for its price and location in Luang Prabang. The Villa Philaylack is near the riverfront of the Mekong and not far from the UNESCO old town area. If you have never been, I have a guide on where to stay in Luang Prabang.

There isn’t a proper address, so make sure to mark the location on your map. Villa Philaylack is in a residential side street that runs between the road that goes to the old town and the riverfront.

The reception area has some travel information of things to do in Luang Prabang.

After checkin in I was shown to my room. I booked a double room with a private bathroom.

My room was on a corner with windows on two sides, so there was ample light in the day time.

Villa Philaylack room

My bed was comfortable, and I enjoyed being in a room with wooden furnishings. There is free wifi here and I had a good reception in my room.

The bathroom was of the standard Southeast Asia guesthouse variety, with a shower and toilet in the same area. Good instant hot water and everything was clean and orderly.

There was no breakfast service here so I went out for food at the nearby market. I enjoyed being near the river, which is a great place to go for a walk.

The guesthouse help me arrange a taxi to the railway station, where I caught the Laos-China Railway to Muang Xai.

Overall this was a good option if you are looking for a cheap guesthouse in Luang Prabang.

Book the Villa Philaylack online or search for more hotels in Luang Prabang.

I stayed at another guesthouse previous to this, and here is my trip report for Luang Prabang.
