Hotel Review: Thanh Thu Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City – Vietnam

May 3, 2025 By James Clark

Hotel Review: Thanh Thu Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City - Vietnam

Hotel Name: Thanh Thu Hotel.
Address: 34 Nguyen An Ninh, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Hotel review of the Thanh Thu Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City – a budget hotel near Ben Thanh Market.

I stayed at the Thanh Thu Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. I booked online at the rate of 424,103 VND ($16.38 USD) per night, and I booked it for its price and location in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Thanh Thu Hotel is on a small street that faces Ben Thanh Market (the landmark central market of the city), so it’s a convenient location in the middle of the city. The market is in front of the Ben Thanh Station of the HCMC Metro.

If you are new to the city, then here is my guide on where to stay in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Thanh Thu Hotel is a typical budget hotel in Vietnam in that it’s in a tall and skinny tube building. This means that there is usually a room in the middle of each floor without a window. Some people prefer a dark room, but I always check to see if the room has a window.

My room type was “Deluxe Window”. Duluxe might have been a bit of a stretch, but there was a window.

Thanh Thu Hotel bed

The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious enough, and there was a good wifi reception in the room.

My window faced out into the urban jungle of Saigon.

The bathroom was in good condition.

There is no breakfast service here, but there are plenty of places to eat in the surrounding streets. Nguyen An Ninh Street could also be called Halal Street, as many of the restaurants cater to muslim travellers. The hotel is popular with Malaysian travellers.

Overall this hotel is useful for budget travellers who want to stay in the centre of the city.

Check prices for the Thanh Thu Hotel or search for more hotels in Ho Chi Minh City.
