Flight Review: SriLankan Airlines – Colombo to Singapore

February 26, 2015 By James Clark Leave a Comment

Flight: SriLankan Airlines UL 308
From: Colombo (CMB) To: Singapore (SIN)

SriLankan Airlines - Colombo to Singapore

I flew with SriLankan Airlines from Colombo to Singapore, booking online via srilankan.com after comparing flights on Skyscanner. SriLankan Airlines is the flag carrier of Sri Lanka and is a member of the One World alliance.

There were also flights available with Emirates and Singapore Air, and I selected SriLankan for the price and to earn points for my Qantas frequent flyer account.

The flight to Singapore takes 3.5 hours in an A320. I checked in the day before and selected an exit row seat on the aisle.

SriLankan is a full service airline so there is inflight entertainment available.

There was a decent selection of new release movies, but for a short daytime flight I prefer to read.

Lunch is served, today I opted for the roast breast of chicken with curry sauce, buttered mixed vegetables, herb and garlic rice, a salad of coleslaw and raison, and dessert of coffee slice cake.

There is a drinks service and freshly brewed Ceylon Tea or coffee. The coffee in tea-crazy Sri Lanka was terrible so I don’t know why I thought it would be different in the air.

All up I enjoyed my flight with SriLankan and it would make a good airline to fly from Asia to Europe, with a stop over in Colombo for a beach break. No flights to Australia at this point though.
