Hotel Review: Sen Hotel Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City – Vietnam

September 26, 2023 By James Clark

Hotel Review: Sen Hotel Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City

Hotel Name: Sen Hotel Saigon.
Address: 82 Le Lai street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

I stayed at the Sen Hotel Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City. I booked online at the rate of 438,509 VND ($19 USD) per night, and I booked it for its price and location. Sen Hotel Saigon is located in the city centre, not far from Ben Thanh Market.

When looking for where to stay in Ho Chi Minh City, this is as good as it gets for a casual visitor to the city.

Sen Hotel Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City

Sen Hotel Saigon is a budget 2-star hotel in a typically skinny building that is common in Vietnam.

Another thing about these budget hotels is that they aren’t built with accessibility in mind.

Checking in was quick and no drama, and I was then shown to my room.

Sen Hotel Reception

These sort of skinny hotels usually have a front-facing room, a middle room with no window, and a back room with a window but with a questionable view. In this case, I got the back room which had a view of a space between two buildings.

The room was spacious enough and the bed was comfortable. The room had air-conditioning and it was required, even in a room without direct exposure to sunlight.

There was a kettle, but no other amenities. There is free wifi, and I had no problem with the reception.

Sen Hotel room

The bathroom was clean and in good condition, but a bit cramped for space. The bedroom could have given up a few feet of space to make this a better bathroom.

There is no breakfast service here, but there are plenty of places to eat nearby. The hotel is opposite 23/9 Park, and on the other side of the park is the Pham Ngu Lao backpacker area. The hotel also has a travel desk if you need to arrange tours or onward travel.

This hotel is a good option if you want a private room but still want to be near the backpacker area.

Check prices for the Sen Hotel Saigon or search for more hotels in Ho Chi Minh City.
