Guesthouse Review: Sea Sun Homestay, Hoi An – Vietnam

December 13, 2018 By James Clark

Guesthouse Review: Sea Sun Homestay, Hoi An - Vietnam

Hotel Name: Sea Sun Homestay
Address: 29 Phan Tinh, Cua Dai, Hoi An, Vietnam.

I stayed at Sea Sun Homestay in Hoi An. I booked it for its location on the beach outside Hoi An. I usually stay in the old town area of Hoi An when I’m visiting, and for first-time visitors I suggest the same. In this instance I wanted to be outside the town centre and by the sea.

The hotel is down a lane that has the feeling of being in a small village. The Cua Dai area is like a village and I enjoyed the pace of life here.

I was welcomed by the friendly owners and shown to my room.

I got a double room with a private bathroom, and the room was spacious and comfortable.

Bed

The bathroom was spacious and clean, with enough space to place toiletries. The big bathtub was a bit annoying to have a shower in, but other than that it was fine.

Bathroom

There is free wifi here, and I had no problems connecting in my room. Breakfast is also provided, with a omelette, fruit, and coffee.

The hotel is near the beach, though the beach has suffered from erosion over the last few years and there are now giant sand bags protecting the coast. I was here mainly as a base to go motorbike riding in the surrounding countryside, so I wasn’t here for the beach. The guesthouse is about 4km from the old town centre, so you would need a bike to get into town. They have bikes for rent here, and I hired a motorbike to go exploring the area.

Book the Sea Sun Homestay online or search for hotels in Hoi An.

If you’re looking to stay in town then here are my reviews of the Tigon Homestay and The Family Hotel.
