Guesthouse Review: Ree House on Sukhumvit 23 in Bangkok

May 4, 2025 By James Clark

Guesthouse Review: Ree House, Bangkok - Thailand

Hotel Name: Ree House.
Address: 12/8, Sukhumvit-23, Watthana, Bangkok, Thailand

Review of Ree House in Bangkok, a cheap guesthouse hidden away in the Sukhumvit/Asok area.

I stayed at Ree House in Bangkok. I booked online at the rate of 620.99 THB ($18.58 USD), and I booked it for its price and location in Bangkok.

Ree House is located on Sukhumvit 23, which is near the intersection of Sukhumvit Road and Asok Road. If that doesn’t mean anything to you, it’s one of the most central intersections in the city, with the Sukhumvit Line and the MRT Blue Line of the Bangkok transit system interchanging here. (Here is my guide on where to stay in Bangkok if you are unfamiliar with the city.)

I was surprised to find a cheap guesthouse in this part of the city. Most of the budget guesthouses are in the Khao San Road backpacker area. The guesthouse is in a small lane with a few other houses, so it is a quiet street.

Ree House, Bangkok - Thailand

There is a common area next to the reception that added to the guesthouse vibes.

My room type was “Single Air Conditioning”. The room is wide enough for a single bed and a desk. This type of room is a common guesthouse-style arrangement.

The room has air conditioning, which was required, and there was a good wifi reception in the room.

Ree House room

The room has its own bathroom, which is something to confirm if you are booking guesthouse accommodation.

There is a breakfast service here, but I was getting an early flight so I didn’t see it.

Ree House common area

Overall this was a good place to stay if you are looking for a cheapo guesthouse in Sukhumvit. This is a rare find, as most of the cheap places on Sukhumvit are hostels or capsule beds.

Book Ree House online or search for more Bangkok hotels.
