Guesthouse Review: Le Village China Town, Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia

Guesthouse Review: Le Village China Town, Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia

Hotel Name: Le Village China Town
Address 47 Petaling Street, Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

I stayed at the Le Village Guesthouse in Kuala Lumpur, which I booked via Agoda. I picked this place as I was looking just looking for a cheapo place to crash for the night. Chinatown is close to the Pudu bus station, which I was going to in the morning.

I’ve stayed in the Chinatown area countless times now, and the cheap places are always run down and tired buildings. The Le Village China Town is no exception. It’s on Petaling St which is the busy market street overflowing with knockoff brand items and souvenirs. The hotel entrance is hidden behind the market stalls so you have to look for a number close to 47 and walk behind the stalls.

The guesthouse has a bit of a hostel vibe with tourist information for backpackers available at the reception. The guy at reception was friendly and helpful with local travel information.

I got a single fan room which was basically a box with a bed in it. The walls had all sorts of scuff marks on them and the window didn’t shut properly. Wifi in my room worked, picking up two of the hotels signals.

Bedsheets with bears seems to be a common theme in Southeast Asia guesthouses.

The shared bathroom had a shower, sink, and separate toilet. Cold water (of course) though being in the tropics the water doesn’t come out icy.

If you are looking for the cheapest room in KL without staying in a dorm room, then this is a pretty typical guesthouse room in KL. If you are a seasoned backpacker looking for a place to crash then you’ll be fine, otherwise look elsewhere.

Book the Le Village China Town online or search for more hotels in Kuala Lumpur. Check this guide for where to stay in Kuala Lumpur.
