Hotel Review: Lang Dong An Bang, Hoi An – Vietnam

June 23, 2022 By James Clark

Hotel Review: Lang Dong An Bang, Hoi An - Vietnam

Review of Lang Dong An Bang in the An Bang beach area of Hoi An in Vietnam.

Hotel Name: Lang Dong An Bang.
Address: Block 9, An Bang, Cam An, Hoi An, Vietnam.

I stayed at the Lang Dong An Bang in Hoi An, Vietnam. I booked online at the rate of 300,000 VND ($12.90 USD), and I booked it for its price and location in the An Bang area.

An Bang is the beach area of Hoi An, and I am familiar with the area. I wouldn’t recommend it if its your first time to Hoi An (here is my guide for where to stay in Hoi An) but it’s worth considering if you are a repeat visitor or are needing some extra beach time.

Despite knowing the area, I didn’t know this place and wasn’t showing up on the map on my Grab taxi app.

The address isn’t helpful either, so I had it marked out on my map before I arrived.

Lang Dong An Bang is in a residential street near the main morning market of An Bang. It has a local feel yet you are close enough the beach and the cool bars and cafes on the little main road.

Lang Dong An Bang, Hoi An

Lang Dong An Bang feel like a homestay with nicer rooms than normal. The entrance felt like walking through someones house, and the checking in process was very informal.

I booked a “Deluxe Triple Room with Window”, which was much bigger than I needed as a solo traveller.

This was the room that was served up to me on Agoda, so I booked it. I figured they would reassign me if they needed the space. The bed was comfortable and it was a pleasant room to stay in.

The room had the option of fan and air conditioning, and there was a good wifi signal in my room.

There was a nice little table and chair setting, but not suitable for working.

A spacious bathroom with walk-in shower. The bathroom was in good condition.

There are bicycles here, and it’s about 15 minutes cycle to the Hoi An ancient town area. And most importantly the accommodation is minutes away from An Bang Beach.

An Bang Beach

Overall this was a suitable place to stay if you want a budget room by the beach. There are nicer and pricier locations on the beach side of the road, but this suited me for my trip as I was cycling around the area.

Check prices for the Lang Dong An Bang or search for more hotels in Hoi An.

Here is my review of the Royal Tourist Villa, An Bang Beach.
