Hotel Review: Royal Tourist Villa, An Bang Beach, Hoi An – Vietnam

Hotel Review: Royal Tourist Villa, Hoi An - Vietnam

Hotel Review of the Royal Tourist Villa in the An Bang Beach area of Hoi An in Vietnam.

Hotel Name: Royal Tourist Villa.
Address: Lot C1-31 fishing village area An Bang, Cam An ward, Hoi An, Vietnam

I stayed at the Royal Tourist Villa in the An Bang area of Hoi An, Vietnam. I booked online at the rate of 367,456 VND ($16 USD) per night, and I booked it for its price and location in the An Bang area

Royal Tourist Villa is near An Bang Beach, which is an area I like staying at in Hoi An. If you’ve never been to Hoi An then you should stay in the ancient town area (here is my guide on where to stay in Hoi An). If you are a return visitor then An Bang is a good option if you want some beach time.

The hotel is in a new area of An Bang that still had lots of empty lots when I stayed.

It’s a small area though and easy enough to walk. If you are coming here by Grab taxi then be sure to mark it out on your Google Map

The Royal Tourist Villa is not really a hotel, but it’s not really a villa either. It’s in a row of new townhouses in a residential area. Checking in was as informal as a guesthouse or homestay.

I booked a “Deluxe Double Room”, mainly because it was a cheap offer on Agoda.

Royal Tourist Villa room entrance

The room had a great bed by the window. The bed was comfortable and the room was air conditioned. The room had a good wifi reception. With all of those combinations in a row I was set for a comfortable stay.

The room was more more like a large studio apartment, and it was more than enough room for a solo traveller.

Royal Tourist Villa kitchen

The room even had a kitchenette, but there was no danger of me using it on this trip (who self-caters in Vietnam?)

Something I always appreciate is when a place uses local art in the room (instead of a generic painting of somewhere else).

The bathroom had a spacious walk-in show area, and enough room around the sink, so overall it was a good bathroom.

There is a little pool out the back, but I didn’t use it.

Royal Tourist Villa pool

The back of the hotel/villa is more empty land. This area has become quite popular so I wouldn’t be surprised if this area is filled in with houses in the next decade.

Royal Tourist Villa back view

The villa is 13 minutes walk to the entrance of An Bang Beach. Maybe just a touch too far to be considered convenient, but I don’t mind walking.

An Bang Beach

They have bicycles, which I used to cycle into the Hoi An old town area (about 15 minutes of riding on flat terrain).

Overall this was an enjoyable enough stay. This is ok for those who like staying in the Hoi An beach area and don’t mind not being in the thick of the action. I would say to stay closer to the beach if it’s your first time to An Bang.

Check prices for the Royal Tourist Villa or search for more hotels in Hoi An.
