Guest House Review: Huyen Tran Bungalow, Phan Thiet – Vietnam

April 20, 2022 By James Clark

Guest House Review: Huyen Tran Bungalow, Phan Thiet - Vietnam

Hotel Name: Huyen Tran Bungalow.
Address: 69/5 Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Ham Tien, Mũi Né, Phan Thiet, Vietnam.

I stayed at the Huyen Tran Bungalow in Phan Thiet, Vietnam. I booked online at the rate of $11.75 USD per night, and I booked it for its price and location in Phan Thiet. This was one of the cheapest private rooms in this area, so it was a great deal.

Nguyen Dinh Chieu is the main road of the beach area of Phan Thiet, and it is a long road runs between Phan Thiet and Mui Ne. This area is often called Mui Ne, even though it isn’t. This area is the best place to stay in Phan Thiet as it has the best section of beach. I got the train from Saigon to Phan Thiet, and a taxi from Phan Thiet Station was 240,000 VND ($10.50 USD).

Huyen Tran Bungalow is down a long alley (the slash in the number is usually an indication of an alley). It is a quiet and residential alley that a few other guest houses as well. It’s not exactly a backpacker area, but you will see other backpackers coming and going from here.

Huyen Tran Bungalow is set on a large property in a garden setting. There is a family house in the compound, and once I found someone I was shown to my bungalow.

I got a double room with a private bathroom. Most places in Vietnam have private bathroom, but it is good to check.

Huyen Tran Bungalow room

The bed was comfortable and the room had air conditioning. It was a simple room where everything worked and was in good order. There is wifi in the room and I had no problem with the connection.

A clean and simple bathroom, no problems there.

There is a lot of concrete between the bungalows, but overall it was green and shady enough, and being in the alley made it quiet.

There was no breakfast service (and at that price I wasn’t expecting one), so I went out to the main road where there are banh mi vendors in the morning. It is close enough to some cafes and restaurants as well. It’s about 5 minutes walk to the beach, which is the main reason that people come here.

Overall this was a decent place to stay if you are just looking for a budget room in Phan Thiet.

Check prices for the Huyen Tran Bungalow or search for more hotels in Phan Thiet.
