Guesthouse Review: Villa Globus, Mostar – Bosnia and Herzegovina

September 29, 2021 By James Clark

Guest House Review: Villa Globus, Mostar - Bosnia and Herzegovina

Hotel Name: Apartment&Rooms Villa Globus Mostar.
Address: Drage Palavestre 6, Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

I stayed at Apartment&Rooms Villa Globus Mostar in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. I booked online at the rate of €15.30 per night, and I booked it for its price and location in Mostar.

The Villa Globus is about halfway between the train/bus station and the old town (where the famous old bridge is). I didn’t know anything about Mostar, so this turned out to be a good guess in terms of location. I prefer not to stay in old town areas which have cobbled streets and a high proportion of tourists.

The guest house is off the main street that leads from the station, and there is a big mural on the wall of the street entrance.

The Villa Globus is in a house on a quiet street, and the family that runs it live next to it.

After a friendly check-in, I was shown to my room. The guesthouse had a good travellers vibe, with maps on the wall and notes from around the world. It felt like a good backpackers place.

Villa Globus rooms

I got a double room with a private bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. I had a window view of a big church on the hill behind the town.

There is free wifi here, and I had a good connection in my room.

There was a copy of the NATO handbook by my bed; a subtle reminder of the troubles this city has seen.

The bathroom was in clean and orderly condition.

There is a shared kitchen at the guest house if you wish to self-cater.

Mostar is a small city so it is easy to walk anywhere here, and this was within easy reach of the old town area.

Overall this was a great place to stay in Mostar. I enjoyed the feeling of being in a backpacker-friendly guesthouse, and it was great value for a room with a private bathroom.

Check prices of the Apartment&Rooms Villa Globus Mostar, or search for more hotels in Mostar. And here is my Mostar trip report.
