Thang Lap Hotel is located near the lake where the road enters the city centre. There is a pedestrian shortcut from the lake to the road the hotel is on. It’s about an 8-minute walk from the hotel to the central market, so it’s a convenient location. The hotel is more like a family-run guesthouse, with the family in the reception area.
I booked a Double Room with a window. The window actually opened out to the upper level of the reception area, so it was a bit strange to leave the window open and be looking down on the reception area. The rooms that are higher up have windows facing the park.
The bed was comfortable, and a fan was sufficient to keep the room cool.
A small work desk, and there was a good wifi connection in my room.
The bathrom has a separate shower area and there was enough space around the sink.
