Sawasdee Sukhumvit Inn Hotel, Bangkok: A budget hotel in the Thonglor area of Bangkok

December 29, 2023 By James Clark

Hotel Review: Sawasdee Sukhumvit Inn Hotel, Bangkok - Thailand

Hotel review of the Sawasdee Sukhumvit Inn Hotel – A budget hotel in the Thonglor area of Sukhumvit Road, Bangkok.

Hotel Name: Sawasdee Sukhumvit Inn Hotel.
Address: 123 Soi Sukhumvit 57, Sukhumvit Rd, Wattana, Bangkok, Thailand.

I stayed at Sawasdee Sukhumvit Inn Hotel in Bangkok. I booked online at the rate of 748 THB ($21.87 USD) per night, and I booked it for its price and location in Bangkok.

The Sawasdee Sukhumvit Inn Hotel is located in the Thonglor area of Bangkok.

This is one of my favourite areas to stay in Bangkok for location and amenities. The hotel is close to the Thonglor BTS Station on Sukhumvit Road.

Sukhumvit Soi 57 is a small road next Thonglor Road (Soi 55). This is a small dead-end street, and the hotel is at the very end of the street. It’s a quiet street despite being in a busy area.

The hotel stands out in this area as it is one of the last of the budget hotels in what is one of the upmarket streets in the inner city. Thonglor has becoe a sought-after address, and Soi 57 has filled up with luxury apartments and boutique hotels. The Sawasdee Group is a local budget hotel chain, and I have stayed at the Sawasdee Hotel in the Khao San Road backpacker area.

I arrived early, so I left my bags until I could check in.

Sawasdee Sukhumvit reception

This is a small hotel, so there is no lift.

I booked a double room with a private bathroom (always good to confirm with budget hotels in Thailand). The bed was very comfortable, and the room included air-conditioning.

Free drinking water is provided daily.

Sawasdee Sukhumvit table

A sensible storage area where you can leave your bag and see what is hanging. Cupboards with doors risk items being left behind.

I booked a room with a window, not that there was much to look at in this built-up area. I get the window for the natural light.

The bathroom was clean and in good condition. The annoying thing was that the sink is outside the bathroom. I have encountered this before, and I presume the builders think that more space is better than the inconvenience of not having the sink inside the bathroom.

There is a lobby area if you feel like hanging out outside your room. There is a dining area outside the reception aream but it looks like it hadn’t been used for a while.

Overall this was a good place to stay if you are looking for a budget hotel in the Sukhumvit area. This is a rare find in Thonglor, and who knows how long it will survive for. Being near a station of the Bangkok Mass Transit System is convenient (one of the main things I look for in Bangkok hotels), and you can easily access Sukhumvit road for places to eat.

Book the Sawasdee Sukhumvit Inn Hotel online or search for more Bangkok hotels.
