Hotel Name: Plaza Hua Hin.
Address: 108/1 Naresdamri Road, Hua Hin, Thailand.
I stayed at the Plaza Hua Hin in Hua Hin, Thailand. I booked online at the rate of 280 THB ($8 USD) per night, and I booked it for price and location in Hua Hin.
Plaza Hua Hin is in what passes for the old town of Hua Hin. Naresdamri Road is a historic street with old wooden buildings, though the buildings are gradually disappearing. This road runs in front of the old jetties, so it isn’t the beach area. The beach is easy enough to walk to from here, so this is my favourite area to stay in Hua Hin when staying for a short time. The last time I was in Hua Hin I stayed at a pier guesthouse nearby, so I was already familiar with this area.
I walked here from the train station after getting the train from Bangkok. Hua Hin is one of the best beach breaks from Bangkok due to its access by train.
The Plaza Hua Hin is a classic Thai guesthouse with good traveller vibes. It’s the sort of place that used to be listed in Lonely Planet before the days of online booking.
I booked an “Economy Single Room” which only has fan. I was offered to upgrade to a room with air conditioning but I don’t mind fan rooms.
The room was compact and comfortable. If you are backpacking on a budget in Thailand then this is all you need.
The room has a window that faces out to the main corridor. The bed was comfortable enough and I got by with the fan. There is wifi and I had a good signal in my room.
The bathroom was small, which was ok except that the sink was outside the bathroom.
There is a dining and common area at the front reception which is a good place to hang out if you want to meet fellow travellers. I had the Thai-style American Breakfast.
Overall this was a good budget guesthouse in Hua Hin. Book the Plaza Hua Hin online or search for more hotels in Hua Hin.
