Guesthouse Review: Pakinai Guest House, Chiang Mai – Thailand

December 19, 2018 By James Clark

Guesthouse Review: Pakinai Guest House, Chiang Mai - Thailand

Guesthouse Name: Pakinai Guest House
Address: 173 Rachapakinai Rd, Old City, Chiang Mai, Thailand.

I stayed at the Pakinai Guest House in Chiang Mai. There are so many cheap guesthouses in Chiang Mai that it can be hard to pick one from the list. In the end I went with this one for its price and location in the old city.

Pakinai Guest House

I had a choice of rooms when I arrived, so I opted for the room with the big window on the road. It’s not a busy road so noise wasn’t an issue.

Room

I had a comfortable double bed, and the room was bright and spacious.

Bed

The bathroom was just your everyday shower-toilet wet room that is standard in this part of the world. It was clean, bright, and spacious. Something seemed lacking though, which took me a few seconds to realise.

Bathroom

The sink and mirror was outside the bathroom, which was inconvenient and didn’t really save and space.

Sink

There is free wifi at the hotel, and I had no problem connecting during my stay. They had signal boxes on every floor, and I got a signal from every floor.

Rachapakinai Rd

There was no breakfast service here so I just went out to one of the many nearby eateries that caters to backpackers.

Overall this was a decent place to stay in Chiang Mai if you are just looking for a cheap room with a private bathroom. Book the Pakinai Guest House online or search for more hotels in Chiang Mai.

If you’ve never been to Chiang Mai then read this guide on where to stay guide. There are different areas so pick the one that is right for you to make the most of your stay.
