Guesthouse Review: Nuanpranee House Guest House – Chiang Mai

February 6, 2018 By James Clark

Guesthouse Review: Nuanpranee House Guest House - Chiang Mai

Guesthouse Name: Nuanpranee House Guest House
Address: 39/9 Rajapakinai Road, Old City, Chiang Mai, Thailand

I stayed at the Nuanpranee House Guest House in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This is in the old city area, which is my preferred area to stay for first-timers to Chiang Mai. The old city has lots of cheap guest houses, and many of them aren’t on booking sites. I usually prefer to book in advance so I have less hassles when I arrive. If you are already in Chiang Mai though it is easy enough to walk around and find places like this.

I was staying around the corner before I moved to this guesthouse. It’s located in the southeast corner of the old city, and it’s an easy walk to the Tha Pae Gate (the busiest gate of the old moated area). It’s also close to the night market on the south gate, which has the best food market.

My room was 350 THB ($11 USD) for a fan room with private bathroom. The room had windows on both sides so there was plenty of natural light and air. The bed was a little firm but not uncomfortable.

Bedroom

The bathroom was clean with a good hot water service and lots of space around the sink to place toiletries.

Bathroom

There is free wifi available and they have signal boxes all over the place. I got three different signals in my room and never had a problem connecting. There is a common area at the reception with information on tours and things to do in Chiang Mai.

Reception

They have a little cafe/restaurant in the common area which serves breakfast. This typical eggs and toast breakfast was 95 THB.

Breakfast

Overall this was a decent budget guesthouse option in Chiang Mai. If you want a cheap place to stay and not be in a hostel, then places like this are ideal. To stay here just turn up and ask. If you prefer to book a place in advance then search for more hotels in Chiang Mai.
