Hotel Name: Maliana Hotel.
Address: Jl. Sumatera, Kupang, West Timor – Indonesia.
Maliana Hotel is a budget hotel/guesthouse in Kupang, West Timor – Indonesia. I picked this place from a selection of hotels that are clustered around the waterfront. Looking at the map it seemed like the most convenient place to stay in the city and this hotel was the best of the budget options. A fan room is 140,000 IDR.
The location was indeed ideal, being a close walk to shops, banks, and a night food market. The sunsets over the water were stunning as well.
The hotel is motel style, with rooms lined up in a row facing out to a courtyard. The bathroom is of the basic Indonesian variety with the mandi tank which you use to flush the toilet and bath yourself. After travelling in Flores I had become accustomed to this way of bathing.
There is a basic breakfast served outside your room each day, and tea and coffee upon request throughout the day.
The wifi is from the front office so it couldn’t reach my room. There is a shady garden out the front where you can sit to get your internet fix.
At the time of my visit this wasn’t available for booking online. Search for other hotels in Kupang at Agoda.
