Apartment Review: Ivana Apartments, Pula – Croatia

September 8, 2021 By James Clark

Apartment Review: Ivana Apartments, Pula - Croatia

Hotel Name: Ivana Apartments.
Address: Scalierova 8, Pula, Croatia.

I stayed at Ivana Apartments in Pula, Croatia. I booked online at the rate of €30 per night, and I booked it for its price and location in Pula. The apartment is centrally located, and not far from the Pula Arena. Pula is a small city so you can walk pretty much anywhere from here, including from the bus station (an 11-minute walk according to my Google Map).

Scalierova

Most of the budget accommodation options in Croatia are apartment stays, so there is no reception to check you in. It is important to read how to check-in before you arrive, especially if you have no internet. In this case, the apartment was associated with the bar next door. I went into the bar to ask how to check in, and someone there called the owner to let me in.

The apartment is above a shop in a mixed-use street of commercial and residential. It doesn’t look like a hotel or apartment stay from the outside.

Apartment entrance

My room was a studio apartment on the first floor (second floor in the USA) facing the street. The main room had a little kitchenette and dining table, and the room felt spacious. The lounge also doubles as a bed, making it a good spot for my afternoon siesta.

Apartment room

The bedroom area is just wide enough for two single beds forming a double bed, and a single bedside table. I unplugged the lamp to use the power outlet. There is wifi in the room, and I had no problem with the connection.

Bed room

The bedroom is in its own little cavity, though not separated by a wall (thus being a studio).

Lounge and bed

The bathroom felt clean and modern, and it had a good hot water system. It also faces the street and has its own windows.

Overall this turned out to be a good budget accommodation option in Pula. I didn’t want to stay in hostels on this trip, so these budget apartment stays are a good alternative. Check prices for Ivana Apartments or search for more hotels in Pula.

This was actually the second place I stayed in Pula, as I ended up basing myself here rather than travelling around. I opted to do a day trip to Rovinj from Pula, so I had to book another place. I had previously stayed at the Pula Center Apartments and Rooms.
