Hotel Review: Hoang Hai Dang 1 Hotel, Can Tho – Vietnam

January 8, 2021 By James Clark

Hotel Review: Hoang Hai Dang 1 Hotel, Can Tho - Vietnam

Hotel Name: Hoang Hai Dang 1 Hotel
Address: 60 Nguyen An Ninh, Can Tho, Vietnam.

I stayed at Hoang Hai Dang 1 Hotel in Can Tho, Vietnam. I booked online at the rate of 376,200 VND ($16.37 USD) per night, and I picked it for its price and location in Can Tho. The Hoang Hai Dang 1 Hotel is centrally located in Can Tho, near the old Can Tho Market on the riverfront. Around this area is the best place to stay in Can Tho for tourists.

The Hoang Hai Dang 1 Hotel is on a main road in a typically tall and skinny building that is common in Vietnam.

Hoang Hai Dang 1 Hotel, Nguyen An Ninh

Despite its lack of street frontage, it’s easy enough to find. I arrived here by the transfer bus that is provided by FUTA Bus company. I got the bus from Saigon to Can Tho, and they also provide free transfers from the Can Tho bus station.

Hoang Hai Dang 1 Hotel entrance

The ground floor reception gives you an idea of how wide the building is. After a friendly welcome, I was shown to my room.

Reception

There is a lift in the hotel, so no need to worry about hauling bags upstairs.

Hallway

I got a double room with a private bathroom. I also ensured when I booked that my room had a window. Hotels in skinny buildings will have rooms in the middle with no windows. I was allocated a room on the top floor with windows on two sides.

Room

The bed was comfortable and the room has a/c and fan option. The room has a useful work desk and chair, and there is a kettle for tea and coffee. Free drinking water is provided.

Bed

There is free wifi at the hotel, and I had a good connection in my room.

The bathroom was clean and in good condition.

There is no breakfast service here, though in this part of Can Tho there are plenty of street food options available in the morning.

My room was the “Deluxe Double City View” room, and in the morning I could see the sunrise over the Mekong and city rooftops.

Overall this was a good place to stay if you are looking for a cheap room with no frills. There is a night market around the corner, and plenty of cafes and places to eat nearby. If you are going to the Cai Rang Floating Market, the tour boats depart from the river nearby. The tours depart early, so it’s nice to be close to the river for this activity. There is more to Can Tho than the floating market, and my previous trip report gives a glimpse of life in the city of Can Tho.

Book the Hoang Hai Dang 1 Hotel online or search for more hotels in Can Tho. And my last visit to Can Tho, I stayed at the Tay Ho Hotel.
