Danang is growing in stature as it positions itself as the third city of Vietnam. Located roughly half way between Hanoi and Saigon, this coastal city is becoming a popular destination for business and leisure travellers, and there is a growing digital nomad scene here as well. The cafe scene is also growing here, with world-class roasteries housed in architecturally interesting buildings.
For this post I’ve grouped the cafes into two areas – Beachside and Cityside – rather than by district or ward. There is also a map of the cafes listed here.

Beachside
43 Factory Coffee Roasters
Address: Lo 419, 422 Ngo Thi Sy, My An, Danang.
Website: www.facebook.com/43factorycoffeeroaster/
43 Factory is in the mini expat area of My An Ward that is becoming a popular place to stay in Da Nang, and the cafe is a model of new Danang. The cafe is in a modern building that is an attraction in itself. They serve great espresso and cold-filtered coffee.
The cafe is surrounded by a koi fish garden, and there are sitting areas built into the pond.
Six On Six
Address: 6/6 Che Lan Vien, My An, Danang.
Facebook: @sixonsixcafe
Tucked away in a residential alley in My An Ward is Six On Six. This cafe is in a house with a front garden, and their coffee is worth the visit.
The Hideout Cafe
Address: 72/24 Nguyen Van Thoai, My Phu, Danang.
Website: www.facebook.com/thehideoutcafedanang/
I was randomly wandering down this little street when I found The Hideout Cafe, otherwise it may have remained hidden to me. It had just opened when I visited, and already this hideout has been found.
Why Roastery
Address: 64 Ung Van Khiem, My Phu, Danang.
Website: www.facebook.com/WhyRoastery/
Why Roastery is set on a corner with indoor and outdoor options – great coffee in a good environment.
Gold Star Coffee
Address: 10 Ngo Thi Sy, My An, Danang.
Website: www.facebook.com/goldstarcoffeeroastery/
Gold Star Coffee is several blocks away from the beachfront in a residential area of My An Ward. As such it has the feeling of being a local haunt. There is quality coffee here, and I enjoyed its location on a leafy street corner.
The Cups Coffee
Address: 233 Nguyen Van Thoai, Phước My, Danang.
Website: thecupscoffee.vn
I don’t usually list chain cafes in these lists unless there is a specific reason. In this case The Cups Coffee is a Da Nang cafe chain so it’s worth mentioning here. They serve good coffee, and the branch I visited on Nguyen Van Thoai has lots of room. And who knows, maybe one day we will see The Cups Coffee in other parts of the world.
85 Coffee House
Address: 49 Pham Cu Luong, Danang.
Website: www.facebook.com/85coffeehouse/
85 Coffee House is another cafe that has been featured in architecture sites, and it’s a nice place to hang out if you are in this part of town.
Venus Cafe
Address: 115 Ngo Thi Sy, Danang.
Website: foursquare.com
Opposite 43 Factory is Venus Cafe, which is a traditional garden cafe that is common in Vietnam. If you love Vietnamese iced coffee (Ca Phe Sua Da) then you should make sure to spend some time in such cafes like this.
Madam Flip Flop
Address: Phan Tu, My An, Danang.
Madam Flip Flop was just opening up when I visited so I didn’t get to try it out fully. I would have had a coffee here but I was enticed by the array of fruits out the front to have a smoothie. This place sort of feels like what you would find in Nimmanhaemin Road in Chiang Mai, or Seminyak/Canggu in Bali. I think My An Ward is going to become the cool expat area, so it makes sense that such places would open here.
Cityside
The Espresso Station
Address: 169/4 Tran Phu, Danang.
Website: www.facebook.com/TheEspressoStation/
The Espresso Station started out in Hoi An, and they have since opened a branch in Danang.
Brewman Coffee Concept
Address: k27a/21 Thai Phien Phuoc Ninh Q, Danang.
Website: www.facebook.com/BrewmanCoffeeConcept/
Like many other good cafes, Brewman can be found at the end of a little alley. The cafe is in a purpose-built space that typifies the modern Danang cafe scene. I got the coconut coffee here, which is a specialty of Danang. At Brewman they added an extra hipster touch with this deconstructed coconut coffee.
Wonderlust
Address: 96 Tran Phu, Danang.
Website: www.facebook.com/pages/category/Coffee-Shop/Wonderlust-Danang-174715466048536/
Wonderlust was one of the early cool cafes in Danang, and they have since moved into a larger premises on Tran Phu.
Starbucks
Address: 50 Bach Dang, Danang.
Website: starbucks.vn
I don’t need to tell you where a Starbucks is as they seem to find you. I’ve added Starbucks on this list as a historical archive, as the first one opened in February, 2018. This first Starbucks opened in Saigon in 2013, and now there are dozens of them. The opening of Starbucks in Danang signalled the arrival of international brands in Danang. This one is useful if you’re staying near the river around the Hilton.
Mia Coffee Roastery
Address: 9-11 Quang Trung, Danang.
Website: www.facebook.com/miacoffeehouse
Mia Coffee Roastery is a good option in this area near the landmark government office tower.
Boulevard Gelato & Coffee
Address: 77 Tran Quoc Toan, Danang.
Website: www.facebook.com/TheBoulevardShop/
This lively gelato shop in the old town also has a coffee option.

Hi james,
Thanks for the post. Could you advise on typical costs vor an expresso at these cafes? One thing i find particularly annoying in south east asia is the price of coffee which can be as much ir more tgan what one pays in australia. The costs amount to more than a meal at a local restaurant, which is way out of wack.
Cheers,
Noel

H Coffee at 2 My Da Dong 8 is great spot to work too. They have good wifi and great indoor space with very good aircon. They have food menu so I could work there all day without leaving for food. Their price is super affordable from 12k-35k for drinks
