B-BED @Khaosan BKK review – A guesthouse in the Khao San Rd area of Bangkok

July 17, 2017 By James Clark

Guesthouse Review: B-BED @Khaosan BKK, Bangkok

Hotel Name: B-BED @Khaosan BKK
Address: 28/7 Soi Rambuttri (Behind Chanasongkham Temple), Bangkok, Thailand

I stayed at the B-BED @Khaosan BKK on Rambuttri Rd in Bangkok. This is in the Khao San Rd backpacker area of Bangkok. I was previously staying in an Airbnb and I don’t often stay in this area, but I had an early morning train from Thonburi station, which just across the river from the Khao San Rd area.

I booked this online for 250 THB a night ($7.50USD) which is at the low end of the budget scale. There are still a few $5 a night places left, though you have to walk around the back alleys to find those.

If you are going to stay in the backpacker area I recommend staying in Soi Rambuttri as it is much quieter than Khao San Rd and it is lined with trees.

Rambuttri

The B-BED @Khaosan BKK is at the bottom of Rambuttri above a pizza shop which you have to walk through to enter.

B-BED @Khaosan BKK

It’s a family-run guesthouse with a friendly family living and working at the reception. I got a single room with fan and shared bathroom. My room was very basic with just enough room for the bed and space on the side. There was no window so there was an exhaust fan to circulate air.

Bed

The shared bathroom looked like it was once one big bathroom with the toileet and shower now partitioned off. It was kept clean during my stay though the water from the shower runs to the partitioned drain in the toilet.

Shared bathroom

There is free wifi in the guesthouse and there is no breakfast or food facilities.

Overall this is suitable for budget backpackers just looking for the cheapest room available. If you just want a private room instead of staying in a dorm then this is acceptable.

Book the B-BED @Khaosan BKK online or search for more hotels in Bangkok.

A similar guesthouse is Lamphu House, which is also on Rambuttri Rd.

If you haven’t been to Bangkok before read my guide on the best areas to stay.
