Hotel Review: Lamphu House, Bangkok – Thailand

March 25, 2016 By James Clark

Guesthouse Name: Lamphu House
Address: 75-77 Rambuttri Rd, Bangkok, Thailand

Lamphu House, Bangkok - Thailand

I stayed at Lamphu House in Bangkok, Thailand. This guesthouse is on Rambuttri Rd in the Khao San Rd backpacker area of Bangkok. I walked in off the street and got a single room with shared bathroom for 280 THB ($7.90 USD).

There are a group of guesthouses on this street that get consistent walk-in traffic of backpackers who have literally just got off the bus. As a result, these little guesthouses don’t show up on online booking sites.

Having stayed on Rambuttri Rd before I was familiar with Lamphu House. It feels like a resort guesthouse as it’s down an alley and situated on a large property with a courtyard.

The bedroom was nice and clean, especially compared to the place I stayed at nearby the night before. It was a comfortable mattress and the building wasn’t hot so the fan was sufficient.

It was a simple room with nice furnishings that made it look better.

Room

The shared bathroom was big, well-ventilated, and kept clean.

The main problem with this place was the wifi. Technically there was no wifi in my room, but my room was on the first floor next to the stairs, so it was picking up the reception wifi. The room is sold as only having wifi in public spaces though, so keep that in mind if you want wifi in your room.

Restaurant and tours

To stay here you can just walk in if you arrive in the morning. If you are arriving later book on their website, otherwise search for more hotels in the Khao San Road area.
