Hotel Name: Apartmani Ana Leko.
Address: Čulića Dvori 27, Split, Croatia.
I stayed at Apartmani Ana Leko in Split, Croatia. I booked online at the rate of €28 per night, and I booked it for its price and location in Split.
The Apartmani Ana Leko is more of a homestay than apartment rental, though in Croatia these sorts of rentals seem to get lumped into the apartment rental category. The apartment is near the old wall of the city centre, so it is a good location for sightseeing. I prefer to stay outside of old cities if I know they are going to be touristy.
Apartmani Ana Leko is in an alley off another alley, and after a couple of laps of the area I eventually worked out where it was. The apartment is actually a self-contained house, hidden behind a plain wall.
The entrance features a courtyard of the family house. Someone eventually came to check me in, and I went upstairs to my room.
My room was in a rooftop room, which was accessible via the rooftop courtyard.
The room was a double with a private bathroom. In keeping with the homestay theme, my room was furnished like the spare room at a friends grandmothers place.
The bed was comfortable, and the room, in general, was spacious enough. There was no window as such, but the door had a frosted glass panel to let light in, and the bathroom had a proper window.
Being room on the rooftop of an old house, the power outlets weren’t in convenient locations. There is free wifi, but I had trouble getting a good signal in my room.
The bathroom was bright and spacious and kept in good condition.
There is a seating area on the rooftop courtyard, and I ended up sitting here to use the wifi.
Overall this was an adequate place to stay. I was just looking for the cheapest room near the old town, and this was it at the time of my booking. This homestay is next door to a hostel as well, reminding me that this cheap room was a better option than being in a dorm.
The property should probably be advertised as a homestay, as it felt like I was in someone’s house more than being in an apartment rental. Perhaps my expectations would have been different if I found this on Airbnb instead of booking dot com.

This was the second place I stayed at in Split on this trip. The previous place was an apartment rental in the suburbs of Split.
