Guesthouse Review – Wonnapha Beach Guesthouse, Bang Saen Beach, Chonburi – Thailand

March 14, 2020 By James Clark

Guesthouse Review - Wonnapha Beach Guesthouse, Bang Saen Beach, Chonburi - Thailand

Guesthouse Name: ละเมอ เกสเฮ้าส์(หาดวอน).
Address: Bangsaen Lang Road Soi 12/1, Wonnapha Beach, Bang Saen, Saen Suk, Chon Buri, Thailand.

Bang Saen Beach is the closest beach to Bangkok, and for this trip I was looking for a cheap guesthouse anywhere near this beach. I found this Guesthouse at Bang Saen Beach which has no English name, so I have called it the Wonnapha Beach Guesthouse after the section of beach it is near. I booked online for the rate of 550 THB ($16.60 USD) for a private room with bathroom.

As it had no English name and I couldn’t find it on Google Maps, I just dropped a pin about where I thought it was for the Grab driver. It’s on a small street so I figured I would find it eventually. After asking another shop they pointed me in the right direction.

I checked in with the friendly owner who had enough English to get the job done. My room was in the next alley in another building.

The Won Beach 2

The room was a typical budget guesthouse that you find all over Thailand. The room was air conditioned and there is free wifi in the room.

Unfortunately the mattress was like sleeping on a block of wood. I ended up going downstairs and asking for another blanket so I could add some cushion to the bed.

The room also had a fridge and a work desk.

The bathroom was clean and spacious with a good hot water service.

The location of the guesthouse was ideal, being about 50 metres walk from the beach. Wonnapha Beach is at the southern end of Bang Saen Beach. It’s not the greatest beach in Thailand (otherwise everyone would know about it), but it’s nice to walk along. At the beach front of this street is the Marina Cafe, which serves great coffee. There are some good places to eat around here as well.

Overall this was a good budget place to stay apart from the hard mattress. Book this Guesthouse @ Bang Saen Beach online or search for more Bangsaen beach hotels.
