Hotel review of Wish Inn Chidlom By GO INN in the Chitlom area of Bangkok, Thailand.
Hotel Name: Wish Inn Chidlom By GO INN.
Address: Soi Ratchadamri 2, Chit Lom Alley, Bangkok, Thailand.
I stayed at the Wish Inn Chidlom By GO INN in Bangkok. I booked online at the rate of 14.93 USD per night, and I booked it for its price and location in Bangkok.
I’m a frequent visitor to Bangkok, yet I had never seen a budget hotel show on search results in the Chitlom area. This inner city area is usually the preserve of luxury apartments and 5-star hotels, so I was intrigued what this place was.
The hotel was also listed as “Wish Inn CentralWorld – Chidlom By GO INN”, though it felt more like Chitlom than CentralWorld. If you are new to Bangkok and have no idea where Chitlom is, then here is my guide on where to stay in Bangkok.
There was no numbered address listed, so I made sure I could find it on Google Maps before getting a taxi there.

The hotel is in a street off Chit Lon Road that has some of the last shophouses in the area. Most of this area has been cleared for apartment towers and office blocks.
The hotel was clearly marked, so there was no problem finding it.
Here is where the tricky part began. When I made the booking it said that the hotel has a self-serve facility for checking in. They sent a password which was to be used to collect keys from a lock box.
I’ve experienced this system before with Airbnb, but not with a property that says it’s a hotel. I had doubts about this, but as I knew I was arriving in the afternoon I booked it. If I was arriving late at night I wouldn’t have booked this.
My travel-booking senses must have been telling me something because the code that I was emailed didn’t work. Luckily the cleaners were there and I was let in. They then switched into reception mode and contacted someone to get the code for the key.
After “checking in” I went down to my room in what felt like the building next door. This hotel used to be different hotel in another life. I was expecting a guesthouse-type room, but the room looked like a mid-range hotel from the 80s.
The room itself was nice enough. The bed was comfortable, the room was air-conditioned, and everything was in working order. I had a wifi reception from a few different accounts and the reception was ok.
The bathroom also looked like an old-school hotel bathroom. I dislike the bathtub showers, but I like the sink with large bench-top space.
The street has some streetfood stands, and there is a nice cafe and a 7 Eleven. This street feels like it is not going to be around much longer, including the hotel. I was looking for the name of the old hotel here, but I couldn’t find it.
The nearest station is Chitlom on the BTS line, so it is a useful location for access to the Bangkok Mass Transit System.
Overall this was a good place to stay in cnetral Bangkok. It’s not the most lively area but it’s location is accessable for for everywhere. I’m not a fan of the check-in procedure, though I can’t complain for what must have been the cheapest room in the Chitlom area
