Hotel Review: Studio Ekamai, Bangkok (budget hotel near Ekkamai BTS on Sukhumvit Rd)

March 8, 2022 By James Clark

Hotel Review: Studio Ekamai , Bangkok - Thailand

Hotel Name: Studio Ekamai.
Address: 1433-1435 Sukhumvit Road, Phra Khanong, Bangkok, Thailand.

I stayed at Studio Ekamai in Bangkok. I booked online at the rate of 595 THB ($18.11 USD) per night, and I booked it for its location in Bangkok.

Studio Ekamai is a 3-star budget hotel on Sukhumvit Road near Ekamai BTS Station (as you might have guessed from the name). Sukhumvit Road is a good area to stay in Bangkok, and in particular I was staying here to be near the Ekkamai Bus Terminal. This is the best-located bus station in Bangkok for destinations in Eastern Thailand (such as Pattaya). Even if you aren’t getting the bus, Ekkamai is a good area as it is near the Sukhumvit Skytrain, giving you access to Bangkok’s rail transit system.

Studio Ekamai blends in with the shops on Sukhumvit Road, and I walked by it at first. It’s a small and unassuming hotel, living up to its studio nome.

Studio Ekamai

I booked a Superior Room, which I guess means is a larger than normal studio room. The room was nice enough and the bed was comfortbale. I did break one of my own booking rules when booking this room, in that I booked a room without a window. I would normally book a window, but I was only in transit in Bangkok, in between trips, so I made an exception for a windowless room. Sometimes I like to stay in windowless rooms to remind myself that I prefer a room with a window.

The room had air-conditioning which is needed in a room like this, but no fan (my preference). There is free wifi and there was a good reception in my room.

There were no coffee-making amenities. The room is supplied with free water, and they use the bottled water that many hotels in Thailand use. The bottles are taken away and reused, so a better option than plastic bottles when you consider how many bottles a hotel goes through.

Studio Ekamai drinks

A small but decent bathroom, with walk-in shower and enough room around the sink.

Overall this hotel served my purpose of being a comfortable hotel near the Ekkamai Bus Station. Book the Studio Ekamai online or search for more hotels in Bangkok.
