Hotel Review: RedDoorz Plus @ Thamrin, Jakarta – Indonesia

August 19, 2023 By James Clark

Hotel Review: RedDoorz Plus @ Thamrin, Jakarta - Indonesia

Hotel Name: RedDoorz Plus @ Thamrin.
Address: Jl Blora No 23 RT.2 / RW.6, Menteng, Thamrin, Jakarta, Indonesia.

I stayed at RedDoorz Plus @ Thamrin in Jakarta, Indonesia. I booked online at the rate of 242,355 IDR ($15.89 USD) per night, and I booked it for its price and lacation in Jakarta.

RedDoorz Plus @ Thamrin is near Sudirman Station, BNI City Airport Rail Link, and Dukuh Atas BNI on the North-South Line, so it is ideally situated for transport in Jakarta. This is one of the best areas to stay in Jakarta if you want to be centrally-located and near public transport. It was nice to just get off the airport train and take a short walk to the hotel.

RedDoorz Plus @ Thamrin is part of the RedDoorz group of budget hotels, which are ubiquitous across Indonesia (along with the OYO group).

As you can see on the photo of the building, there are no windows on the side of the building. The hotel has been built to assume that another building will be built next to it in the future.

I booked a room with a window, which is something I always check. The internal rooms have windows that face the hallway, so you are not in complete darkness, but you can’t have the window open either.

I booked a Twin Room. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious enough for a budget hotel offering.

The room had a sensible work desk with minimal clutter. There is free wifi at the hotel, but in a case of bad timing I was staying when the internet company was digging up the street and there was no wifi during my stay. I had to resort to going to nearby cafes.

The bathroom was small but at least it was in good condition. I just wish they would make more space around the sink.

My room had a view over Jl. MH Thamrin, which is the main road of Jakarta. It’s a busy road, but the room wasn’t noisy.

There is no breakfast service here, and unfortunately I didn’t find any good breakfast places that are open early here.

There are plenty of lunch and dinner options in this area, from street food to international restaurants. The hotel is also not far from the lightrail that connects to the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway.

Overall this was a good place to stay in Jakarta if you are looking for a budget room in the centre of the action.

Book RedDoorz Plus @ Thamrin online or search for more hotels in Jakarta.
