Hotel Review: Orchid Inn@SKV3, Bangkok – Thailand

February 13, 2025 By James Clark

Orchid Inn at SKV3 on Arab Street Bangkok

Hotel review of Orchid Inn@SKV3, a budget hotel on Soi Arab in Bangkok.

Hotel Name: Orchid Inn@SKV3.
Address: 6/2-5 Soi Sukhumvit 3, Bangkok, Thailand.

I stayed at the Orchid Inn@SKV3 in Bangkok. I booked online at the rate of
673.75 THB ($19.89 USD) per night, and I booked it for its price and location in Bangkok.

Orchid Inn@SKV3 is located in Sukhumvit 3 (thus the name SKV3).

There is an entrance on Sukhumvit 3/1 (between 3 and 5), which is known as Soi Arab (Arab Street). The alley is lined with Middle Eastern shops and restaurants, in contrast to the girlie bars of Soi Nana on the other side of Sukhumvit Road. I even heard the call to prayer in the evening, though it’s not too loud.

The hotel is made up of two separate buildings, so after checking in I was shown to my room in the next building.

Orchid Inn SKV3 room

I booked a “Single Economy”, which comprised of a double bed in a room not much wider than the bed. Despite the small space, the room felt much larger with the wide window. It’s amazing what a big window can do for the feel of a room.

There was only space on one side of the bed, so it required strategic unpacking of my bags.

The bathroom was also small but otherwise it was ok.

My room overlooked an alley and I could see people in other rooms across from me. I was going to check if they could see me, but I forgot to check if the windows were tinted.

The fire escape stairs are outside between the two buildings.

I was here for a night in transit, so I only needed a cheap room while passing through. The Orchid Inn@SKV3 served its purpose as a cheap place to stay on Sukhumvit Road.

Book the Orchid Inn@SKV3 online or search for more Bangkok hotels.
