Hotel Review: Mixok Inn, Vientiane – Laos

Hotel Review: Mixok Inn, Vientiane - Laos

Hotel Name: Mixok Inn
Address: 188 Sethathirate Road, Vientiane, Laos

I stayed at the Mixok Inn in Vientiane, Laos. I booked online at the rate of $12 USD per night, and I booked for its price and location in Vientiane. I was looking for a cheap room within the old city area of Vientiane, so I went with this one.

I booked a Standard Double Room, which had a double bed with private bathroom.

I got a room facing the street, so there was plenty of natural light. The room had the option of a fan or air conditioning.

There is free wifi at the hotel and I had a good reception in my room. I did have problems logging into a service I use, which I found out was a problem of logging in while I was in Laos. A VPN comes in handy in this situation.

Drinking water is provide as you don’t want to drink the tap water here.

The bathroom was the usual guesthouse-style bathroom, with instant hot water and toilet in the same room. The bathroom was in good order.

There is a bar area in the reception, and it appeared to be a popular spot for visa runners from Thailand looking for a cheap room while waiting for their visas. Laos had only recently reopened when I visited, so there weren’t as many visitors at this point.

Overall this hotel/guesthouse served its purpose is a cheap room in Vientiane. Don’t expect too much and you will be fine. Also a good option if you want a private room instead of a dorm in a hostel.

Book the Mixok Inn online or search for more hotels in Vientiane.

I was here at the end of my Laos trip on the Laos-China Railway. At the start of my trip I stayed at the Vientiane Luxury Hotel, and here is my trip report for Vientiane.
