Hotel Review: Vientiane Luxury Hotel, Vientiane – Laos

May 19, 2022 By James Clark

Hotel Review: Vientiane Luxury Hotel, Vientiane - Laos

Hotel Name: Vientiane Luxury Hotel
Address: No 070, Lane 8, Rue Phanompenh Road, Ban Anou, Chanthabouly Dist, Vientiane, Laos

I stayed at the Vientiane Luxury Hotel in Vientiane, Laos. I booked online at the rate of $13.86 USD per night, and I booked it for its price and location in Laos.

Despite its name, the Vientiane Luxury Hotel is listed on Agoda as a 3-star hotel, and maybe it is 2.5. Either way, I don’t think anyone would have been tricked into thinking it was a luxury hotel when they booked. I was just looking for a cheap room for the night before getting the Laos-China Railway the next day.

The hotel is in the city centre and about a block outside the remnants of the most historic area. Vientiane is a compact and walkable city, so this is a good area to stay in Vientiane.

The country had only recently opened up when I was in Vientiane, so it was still quiet and places were understaffed. After finding a staff member I was taken to my room. I booked a King Room, and it was indeed king-sized (by Southeast Asia guesthouse standards at least).

My room had a big and comfortable bed, and the room was air-conditioned. The room was filled with random little tables, as if they were put there to fill up space. I was only here for half a day so I just used my laptop on the bed. There is wifi in the rooms and I had a good connection when I was there.

The room had a big window looking out over the Vientiane city skyline (or what counts as a skyline).

The bathroom was in clean and working order. Electric hot water and enough space around the sink.

There is no breakfast service here, but I left early anyway so it didn’t matter. There are cafes within walking distance if you want a cafe breakfast.

Overall this was an adequate budget hotel in Vientiane. Book the Vientiane Luxury Hotel online or search for more hotels in Vientiane.

I ended up coming back to Vientiane after my train trip, and here is my trip report for Vientiane.
