Guesthouse Review: Matahari Lodge, Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia

September 18, 2015 By James Clark

Matahari Lodge, Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia

Guesthouse Name: Matahari Lodge
Address: 58-1 Jalan Hang Kasturi, Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

I stayed at the Matahari Lodge in KL’s Chinatown. I have stayed here before and recalled it being a reliable budget guesthouse in Kuala Lumpur. I booked online for the rate of $12.41 USD.

The cheapo guesthouses in KL are the typical style of Southeast Asia of small rooms that are partitioned with thin walls.

The rooms are basic but if you are a backpacker then you will welcome the private room for not much more than a dorm bed.

Single Room

The share bathrooms at the these sort of guesthouses can make or break the experience. The Matahari have nice bathrooms; they were always clean, the hot water works, the sinks aren’t clogged, and there is plenty of room in the bathroom to hang clothes.

Share Bathroom

There is a kitchen with the usual backpacker toast breakfast, but you are in KL so you should be having the Indian breakfast!

Kitchen

There is free wifi and I was got a good signal in my room.

Overall this is a good backpacker guesthouse and ideal if you are transiting through the city.

Book the Matahari Lodge online or search for more hotels in Kuala Lumpur.
