Hotel Review: Lum Dong Tien Hotel, Hue – Vietnam

August 23, 2019 By James Clark

Hotel Review: Lum Dong Tien Hotel, Hue - Vietnam

Hotel Name: Lum Dong Tien Hotel
Address: 18/48 Ngo Quyen, Hue, Vietnam.

I stayed at the Lum Dong Tien Hotel in Hue, Vietnam. I booked online and picked it for its location and price. The rate was 170,000 VND per night ($7.35 USD), proving that Vietnam remains as an amazing value destination, especially outside the biggest cities.

The hotel is in the old city in an alley lined with guesthouses. There are a few other “guesthouse streets” in Hue, but this is one of the quieter ones. There are no bars or nightclubs on this street.

48 Ngo Quyen, Hue

Lum Dong Tien Hotel is a typical Vietnamese budget hotel inside a tall and skinny building, with a reception and lounge area that opens out onto the street.

Reception

Being a tall and skinny building there are no lifts. I was on the 3rd floor so I got my leg workout incorporated into the stay. When I booked I made sure I had a window room, as some of the rooms in the middle of the floors don’t have windows.

I got a twin room with a double and single bed, and the windows were as wide as the room.

Beds

The room had air conditioning and a fan and the usual basic facilities of a budget guesthouse. There is free wifi available throughout the property.

The bathroom was a bit small without convenient places to places toiletries. Other than that is was ok.

Bathroom

There is a free breakfast service, which comprises of the national standard breakfast of eggs and a bread roll with coffee.

Breakfast

You can also book tours and bus tickets here if you haven’t already arranged onward travel.

Booking office

Overall this was a good place to stay in Hue if you’re just looking for a reliable cheap room. Book the Lum Dong Tien Hotel online, or search for more hotels in Hue.
