Hotel Review: iHouse-New Hotel, Vientiane – Laos

December 11, 2016 By James Clark

Hotel Name: iHouse-New Hotel
Address: 72/6 Pangkham Road, Vientiane, Laos

Hotel Review: iHouse-New Hotel, Vientiane - Laos

I stayed at the iHouse-New Hotel in Vientiane, Laos. I booked online at the rate of $13.50USD per night, and I selected it out for its location in the city. Laos is a small city so you can’t really go wrong with hotel location if you are in the central area as it is very walkable.

The iHouse-New Hotel is on Pangkham Rd near the Nam Phou Fountain.

The hotel is in a tall and skinny building that blends in with the rest of the street.

Being a tall and skinny tube building there is no lift and I was on the 4th floor. My room was at the back half of the building so I had no natural light. There was a window in the room that let in light from the corridor. The room itself was ok, with a comfortable bed and organised well to make most of the limited space.

The bathroom was small which is ok, but they could have used some shelves to make the room more usable. Instead there was a basket with the towels sitting on the toilet, and if I didn’t move it out of the bathroom it would have got wet from the shower.

Bathroom

I had good wifi in my room (good for Laos at least) and the power outlet was next to my bed. I bring my own power strip for when there aren’t enough outlets.

There is no breakfast here but there are plenty of options nearby (the Scandinavian and Parisien bakery are at either end of this street).

Overall this was one of those “get what you pay for” kind of budget guesthouses. A basic clean and comfortable room.

Book the iHouse-New Hotel online or search for more hotels in Vientiane.
