Hotel Review: Hoang Chau Motel, Vung Tau – Vietnam

March 1, 2017 By James Clark

Hotel Review: Hoang Chau Motel, Vung Tau - Vietnam

Hotel Name: Hoang Chau Motel
Address: 45/18B Thuy Van, Vung Tau, Vietnam.

I stayed at the Hoang Chau Motel in Vung Tau, Vietnam. I booked online for $10USD a night and booked it for its location on the back beach area of Vung Tau. I have stayed at a hotel on the back beach before and I just wanted something near the beach.

The hotel is down a little alley of the main beach road. There are lots of budget guesthouse-style hotels in this section of the back beach, so you could just walk around and find a place. I prefer to just book something in advance.

Thuy Van alley

The hotel is your usual skinny Vietnamese building but not too tall for an arduous climb up stairs. As I arrived the landlady of the hotel saw me coming and gave me a warm greeting.

I got a double room with private bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and tidy with everything in working order. I must say for such a chaotic country on the streets, Vietnam does he clean and simple guesthouses very well. This was one of those.

Double room

The bathroom was also a clean and basic room. The shower had a place on a wall so it wasn’t just a handheld operation, and there was hot water.

Bathroom

The room was air conditioned but no fan, which would have been a good addition as I prefer sleeping with a fan. The internet was solid in my room. There was no breakfast service here.

Overall this was a great budget room. Clean and tidy and friendly owners made it a good stay.

Book the Hoang Chau Motel online or search for more Vung Tau Hotels. If you are new to Vung Tau, then read the guide on where to stay in Vung Tau.

Here is how to get the ferry from Ho Chi Minh City to Vung Tau.
