Hotel Review: Gia Hoa 2 Hotel, Tra Vinh – Vietnam

December 2, 2019 By James Clark

Hotel Review: Gia Hoa 2 Hotel, Tra Vinh - Vietnam

Hotel Name: Gia Hoa 2 Hotel
Address: 50 Le Loi, Tra Vinh, Tra Vinh, Vietnam.

I stayed at the Gia Hoa 2 Hotel in Tra Vinh, Vietnam. I booked online at the rate of 420,000 VND ($18.12 USD) and picked it for its location close to the central market. I didn’t know the best area to stay in Tra Vinh, so in these situations I usually look for the market area.

The Gia Hoa 2 Hotel is on a prominent corner in a bright yellow building, so you can’t miss it. The hotel is in the old part of town where the streets are laid out in a grid format with big tree-lined streets.

Gia Hoa 2 Hotel

The reception is cluttered with all sorts of interesting curios. There is a lift here, which I was not expecting for a budget hotel.

Reception

I got a double room with a private bathroom. I made sure my room had a window, and it had an abundance of windows that made the room feel bigger than it was. The room had air conditioning and fan option. I prefer a fan so I like being given an option.

Room

The bed was comfortable and it had a useful side table with power outlets.

Bed

There was tea and coffee making facilities, and snacks for sale. They didn’t provide any water though.

Table

I enjoyed the wallpaper and mix and match nature of the furnishings. It was refreshing to be in such a budget hotel with a bit of personality as opposed to new places with white-washed walls and minimalist furnishings.

Mirror

The bathroom had a shower inside the bathtub. This is not my preferred shower system as I’m always cautious about slipping in the bathtub. In this case there was no shower curtain so I had to be careful about where the water went. It also appeared that the water was going down the side of the bathtub along the wall.

Bathroom

There is free wifi at the hotel and I had no problem with the reception. There is no breakfast service here, which suited me fine as I wanted to try some market food for breakfast.

Overall this was a good budget hotel stay in Tra Vinh. Book the Ben Tre Farm Stay online, or search for more hotels in Tra Vinh.
