Guesthouse Review: Ganesha Family Guesthouse, Battambang – Cambodia

February 23, 2016 By James Clark

Guesthouse Name: Ganesha Family Guesthouse
Address: Street 1.5, Battambang, Cambodia

Ganesha Family Guesthouse, Battambang - Cambodia

I stayed at the Ganesha Family Guesthouse in Battambang, Cambodia. I got a private room for $11 USD per night.

I had already stayed in another guesthouse and hotel in Battambang but I wanted to stay here because it is perhaps the best located guesthouse in the historic colonial area. I also wanted to stay at Ganesh because it looked like a true backpacker guesthouse where you can meet travellers in the common area.

The guesthouse is one street away from the river in the old town area. The building appears to be an old shophouse and the room I was in was on the second floor. I got a double with private bathroom.

The room was a bit small but everything was laid out in a way to not be cramped. I love how they had a mosquito net permanently rigged up so it wasn’t difficult to get in and out of bed. The fan was on the wall blowing onto the bed. I had no problem with the wifi in the room.

The bathroom was clean and tidy with a cold water shower.

There is a Foosball table and hangout area on the first floor.

Back on the ground floor there is a bar at the reception.

They also have a pool table and some seats outside. Next door there is a restaurant that is part of the guesthouse as well.

Overall I enjoyed my stay here. It was great to stay in the historic area of Battambang and great to see a guesthouse with a good travellers vibe.

Book the Ganesha Family Guesthouse online or search for more guesthouses in Battambang.
