Hotel Review: Chill Box Premier – Beach Hotel, Da Nang

October 9, 2018 By James Clark

Hotel Review: Chill Box Premier - Beach Hotel, Da Nang

Hotel Name: Chill Box Premier – Beach Hotel.
Address: 35 Duong Dinh Nghe, Son Tra, Da Nang, Vietnam.

When I travel around Vietnam I’m continually amazed at how good value the budget hotels are in this country. I find that the budget hotels of Vietnam ruin my experience in places like Thailand and Indonesia, because they aren’t as good value for what you get in Vietnam. My latest budget hotel stay in Da Nang was no exception.

I stayed at the Chill Box Premier – Beach Hotel in Da Nang, Vietnam. I booked it for for its price and location near the beach. The rate was a square $10 USD per night, which was a special deal I found on Agoda.

I was wondering what to expect with a $10 hotel room so close to the beach, but this turned out to be an amazing deal. This was the best $10 hotel room I’ve ever stayed at.

The hotel is located in what will probably be the central point of the beach area. It’s next door to the Times Square project, which is a twin tower development that will be a new landmark of the beach.

Chillbox and Times Square

The big hotels are on the main beach road, while the smaller hotels (such as this one) are are on the street behind it.

The hotel is off an alley so it’s a quiet area. Like most buildings in Vietnam not much consideration is given to accessibility, so if you have mobility issues there is a big stairway to climb.

Back street

I was checked in by a young and friendly receptionist, and then I went to my room. There is a lift here at least, so no stairs after the entrance.

My room was one of the corner rooms, and I had two big windows. I couldn’t believe how big my room was, especially given the price, and it was a bonus to have such a bright room.

Bedroom

I had a double bed which was very comfortable, and the had useful lights and power outlets next to the bed.

Bed

I liked this exposed hangar space idea instead of having a closet. I always feel like I’m going to leave something behind in a closet, so it’s better that it’s open.

Hangar space

The bathroom was also bright and spacious, and everything was clean and orderly with a good hot water system.

Bathroom

The room had its own coffee machine with coffee pods, and a kettle and free water.

The rate included breakfast, which was a choice of a noodle soup or eggs and a bread roll. It was a nice touch to have breakfast delivered to my room, but I would have been just as happy to have had breakfast on the rooftop.

Breakfast

There is free wifi at the hotel, and I had no problem connecting during my stay.

Overall this was a great place to stay in Da Nang. If you are looking for a budget hotel by the beach then this will be ideal. Book the Chill Box Premier – Beach Hotel online or search for more hotels in Danang. If you are new to Da Nang then read my guide on where to stay in Da Nang.
