Hotel Review: Asia Like Boutique Hotel, Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia

February 1, 2019 By James Clark

Hotel Review: Asia Like Boutique Hotel, Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia

Guesthouse Name: Asia Like Boutique Hotel.
Address: 200 Jalan Pudu, Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

I stayed at Asia Like Boutique Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. I booked it online for its location near Bukit Bintang, which is one of my preferred areas to stay in KL. I’ve previously stayed at another hotel on Pudu Road, so I was familiar with the location.

The rate was 64.29 MYR per night ($15.77 USD), plus there is the 10 MYR per night tourist tax which is annoyingly not added on the online booking. This is about as cheap as it gets for a private room with a bathroom in KL.

The hotel is in a tall and skinny building that wouldn’t be out of place among the tall and skinny buildings of Vietnam.

Usually I try and avoid booking rooms without a window. In this case the room was too cheap to pass up, and I liked the location. As you can see from the building there are not many rooms with windows. There were 9 rooms on my floor, with the first and last rooms having a window.

The hotel was new at the time of my stay, so the room was modern and pleasant. It was a small room, but everything was nice and new. I prefer staying in a room like this over a capsule hotel. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioner worked as it was commanded, and there were power outlets at convenient locations.

There was just enough room be able to put my bags at the side of the bed, wit a little work desk next to the bed. There is free wifi at the hotel, and I had no problem with my connection during the stay.

The bathroom was clean and orderly, with a good hot water service.

In the hallway there is a filtered water dispenser. I think that all hotels should do this rather than supplying bottled water.

Pudu is a busy road, though you don’t hear anything in the windowless rooms. There is also a back entrance, and that is close to Bukit Bintang (one of the main tourist areas), and close by to the Imbi monorail station (for access to Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station).

Overall this was a good place to stay if you’re just looking for a cheap room without staying in a hostel. I’m not sure it should be called a boutique hotel, but it was certainly a decent budget hotel.

Book Asia Like Boutique Hotel online or search for more hotels in Kuala Lumpur.
