Airbnb Review: Apartment on Sukhumvit Soi 38 in Bangkok, Thailand

Airbnb Review: Apartment on Sukhumvit Soi 38 in Bangkok, Thailand

Airbnb name: Bangkok Apartments BTS Thong Lo by walk 3min 205
Address: Sukhumvit Soi 38, Bangkok, Thailand

As a frequent visitor to Bangkok I have come to prefer staying in Airbnb’s if I am here longer than a week. There are so many new apartment projects in Bangkok so finding a modern apartment is pretty easy. I usually look for something along the BTS Sukhumvit line, and I found an apartment in Soi 38, a few minutes walk to Thonglor BTS station.

The main problem with Airbnb’s is the moment of getting the keys to claim your room. I hate it when you have to wait for someone to let you in. Fortunately for this rental the keys were in a package left with the front security and going to my room was an easy process.

The apartment I rented appeared to be part of an apartment rental complex, with an office on the first floor for checking in and other issues. The apartment I was was a studio apartment which was just the right size for a solo traveller who doesn’t need a kitchen.

Studio apartment

I had a comfortable king-size bed and there is a balcony and big window providing ample natural light.

Bed

Technically there was a kitchenette in the room, which was next to the entrance door. As you can see it is very basic, but as the apartment is nar the Soi 38 food market I had no need for cooking facilities.

Kitchenette

A decent sized bathroom with a separate shower area and plenty of space on the sink to place toiletries.

Bathroom

There was good wifi in the room, with the passwords clearly marked. There is a laundry on the roof top with a load of washing costing 30 baht. There is also gym and a small pool on the roof.

Overall this was an excellent place to stay in Bangkok, and I would stay here again if need be.

This apartment is no longer available on Airbnb. If you prefer a hotel then find the best hotels deals in Bangkok here.
