Hotel Review: The Boss’s Place, Bangkok – Thailand

February 12, 2025 By James Clark

Hotel Review: The Boss's Place, Bangkok - Thailand

Review of The Boss’s Place (The Boss Sathorn Hotel) a budget hotel in the Sathorn area of Bangkok.

Hotel Name: The Boss’s Place (The Boss Sathorn Hotel).
Address: 35, 33 Suwan Sawat Alley, Thung Maha Mek, Sathon, Bangkok, Thailand

I stayed at the The Boss’s Place in Bangkok (listed online as The Boss Sathorn Hotel). I booked at the rate of 654.47 THB ($19.33 USD) per night, and I booked it for its price and location in Bangkok.

The Boss’s Place is located in Sathorn District, about 10-minutes walk from Lumphini MRT (and thus near Lumphini Park). The hotel is near Soi Ngam Dupli, which is the old backpacker neighbourhood of Bangkok. If you are a backpacker then I suggest staying the main backpacker area, details of which are in the where to stay in Bangkok guide.

The Boss's Place Sathorn

I have stayed in this area a few times before as there used to be many budget hotels here.

The Boss's Place

The Boss’s Place has the same vibe of the old-school guesthouses of Bangkok, offering daily, weekly, and monthly rates.

The Boss's Place entrance

The reception area opens out onto the street, which is sensible design for buildings in the tropics.

The Boss's Place lobby

It’s an old building, so there is no lift. The room has air-conditioning, but oddly it had no fan (more common in older places).

The Boss's Place room

I booked a “Standard King Bed”. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable.

The Boss's Place bed

The room had a table with basic tea and coffee facilities. The room was so old though that there weren’t enough power outlets for the average modern-day traveller.

The Boss's Place table

The bathroom was also feeling it’s age with leaky taps and a temperamental hot water system.

The Boss's Place bathroom

Overall this was an average place to stay, best for those looking for the cheapest room in the Sathorn area.

Book the The Boss’s Place online or search for more Bangkok hotels.
