Thasanee Hotel review: A budget hotel in Hua Hin – Thailand

July 19, 2017 By James Clark

Hotel Review: Thasanee Hotel, Hua Hin - Thailand

Hotel Name: Thasanee Hotel
Address: 76/5 Soi.55/1, Petchakasem Road, Hua Hin, Thailand

[Edit: This hotel has been renoved since I stayed. This review remains as an archive.]

I stayed at the Thasanee Hotel in Hua Hin, Thailand. I booked online at the rate of 12.39 USD for one night. I booked it for its location in Hua Hin, which is ideally placed between the beach and the night market area. I was arriving in Hua Hin by train so I also wanted a place that was close enough to walk to from the train station. It’s also not far from the minivans that go to Bangkok.

The front entrance is unassuming, with no obvious signage. The reception has some other business sharing the space and I initially walked by the hotel until I started looking for the street numbers.

I got a double room with private bathroom. The bed was firm but still comfortable, and the room had a big window. Judging by the shape and layout of the hotel, all the rooms have big windows.

Bed

The room was spacious, with a basic set up of table and chair, a mini fridge, and TV.

Room

The bathroom was also roomy enough, with enough sink space to place toiletries and an instant hot water system shower.

Bathroom

There was free wifi throughout the property, though it uses a password system where you have to log back in if you have been idle or away. It was annoying continually have to log in.

The hotel is close to the night market area, but there is also a street food market that sets up on the street outside the hotel at night. I ate here one night and I wished I had more time to try some more stalls.

Overall this was a good-value budget hotel and nice place to stay. The room was comfortable and well-kept, and the location was great.
