Hotel Review: Link Hotel, Penang – Malaysia

April 10, 2016 By James Clark

Link Hotel, Penang - Malaysia

Hotel Name: Link Hotel
Address: 90 Jalan Rangoon, Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia.

I stayed at the Link Hotel in Penang, Malaysia. I booked it online for the rate of $12.60 USD for one night, which is great value – even by Penang standards. I think this deal was a combination of being an Agoda deal and the hotel being just outside of the historic area. The hotel is still in Georgetown but it is outside the UNESCO world heritage bufferzone. That said it is still a good location and you can easily walk to the historic core from there.

Upon checkin the reception was welcoming and friendly. I booked a single room with private bathroom. The room was compact but it was laid out in a way so that bags could fit.

Bedroom

The bed was comfortable with a decent sized bedside table. There was TV but I didn’t use, and the room was air conditioned.

Single bed

The bathroom was a wet-room style with the shower and toilet together. An instant hot water system and the room was clean and well-kept.

Bathroom

Free wifi in the rooms though my connection wasn’t very strong during my stay.

There was a breakfast service but I left before the breakfast began (7.30am). Even if I was there I wouldn’t have had breakfast because if you are in Penang you are going to eat outside anyway.

Book the Link Hotel online or search for more hotels in Penang. If you are unfamiliar with Georgetown then here is my guide for which area to stay in Penang.
