Hotel Review: Laem Thong Hotel, Hat Yai – Thailand

April 6, 2019 By James Clark

Hotel Review: Laem Thong Hotel, Hat Yai - Thailand

Hotel Name: Laem Thong Hotel
Address: 46 Thumnoonvithi Rd, Hat Yai Central, Hat Yai, Thailand

I stayed at the Laem Thong Hotel in Hat Yai, Thailand. I picked it for its central location in Hat Yai, and the rate was 296.26 THB ($9.25 USD) for a single room with a private bathroom.

The hotel is on Thumnoonvithi Rd on the same street as the train station. It’s about 5 minutes walk to the station from the hotel. There are also plenty of food options in this area.

The hotel is in a big colourful concrete building, which seems to be a common style in Hat Yai.

The reception was like stepping into a refrigerator, especially after being out in the humidity of Hat Yai. I couldn’t place what era the furnishings were from, so lets just say it has a timeless retro feel.

Reception

I checked into my room to find it was decorated green like the building. The window opened out into the hallway of another section of the building. The bed was comfortable and the fan was sufficient to keep the room cool.

The bathroom was old but in good condition. No weird smells and everything in working order, so can’t ask for more than that from a budget hotel.

Bathroom

Old signage in the hallway. There is free wifi in the hotel, and I had no problem with the connection in my room. There is no breakfast service here.

Notice

Overall this was an adequate place to stay if you’re just looking for a cheap room in Hat Yai for the night while in transit. Book the Laem Thong Hotel online or search for more Hat Yai hotels.
