Hotel Review: Hotel Royal, Lubuk Linggau – Indonesia

April 24, 2024 By James Clark

Hotel Review Hotel Royal, Lubbuk Linggau Indonesia

Hotel review of the Hotel Royal in Lubuk Linggau in South Sumatra, Indonesia.

Hotel Name: Hotel Royal.
Address: Jl. Yos Sudarso No.88, RT.2, Jawa Kanan Ss, Lubuk Linggau Tim. II, Lubuklinggau, Indonesia.

I stayed at the Hotel Royal in Lubuk Linggau, Indonesia. I booked online at the rate of 330,000 IDR ($20.36 USD), and I booked it for its location in Lubuk Linggau.

I knew nothing about Lubuk Linggau (or Lubuklinggau), and there is not much written about it. I got the train from Palembang to Lubuklinggau, so I figured I should stay near the train station. There is one main road in the city but no obvious central area, so I picked Hotel Royal as it looked centrally located. This turned out to be a good choice as the Hotel Royal is in a good location.

The Hotel Royal is a 2-Star budget hotel. Its on a large property on the main road, and there is ample parking space in front of the hotel.

Hotel Royal

Despite its budget nature, the hotel tries to live up to its royal name with a spacious interior. It was hard to tell how old the hotel was, but obviously decades old by now. It looked much nicer than the new budget places in the city centre.

I must have been the first foreigner in a while as they were surprised to see me, and I was asked to get a group photo with the staff. Fun times travelling in provincial Indonesia.

I booked a Deluxe A room. The room had a double bed with the room facing the car park area.

The bed was comfortable, the room was sufficiently air-conditioned, and there was a good wifi reception in the room.

The room had a big desk that wasn’t cluttered with stuff.

The bathroom was a typical Southeast Asia-style shower and toilet room.

The room rate also included breakfast, which is served in the room. Nasi goreng (fried rice) and black coffee.

It was hard to find onward travel information in the town, so I asked the receptionist about how to get to Bengkulu. They made a phone call and found a taxi van service that would pick me up.

I also liked that the hotel had a big map of Sumatra on the wall.

Overall this turned out to be an ideal budget hotel in Lubuk Linggau.
