Hostel Review: Dream Cube Hostel, Barcelona – Spain

April 28, 2016 By James Clark

Dream Cube Hostel, Barcelona - Spain

Hostel Name: Dream Cube Hostel
Address: Avd. Sarria 67, Les Corts, Barcelona, Spain 08029

I stayed at the Dream Cube Hostel in Barcelona, Spain. I booked online and it worked out to $17.67 USD per night. There is also a local tax of 1.25 Euro per night which is paid upon arrival.

The Dream Cube Hostel is about 15 minutes walk from Barcelona Sants train station and about 10 minutes walk to the nearest metro.

Dream Cube Hostel

I booked this hostel partly out of curiosity of the capsule beds. I’ve noticed a trend in hostels that are offering more privacy in dorm rooms with partitioned bunk beds. Last year I stayed in a hostel with capsule beds. While it is not a Japanese-style capsule hotel the pods at Dream Cube offer more privacy than a standard bunk bed.

What I liked about this hostel was the option to get a bed that is lengthways so it is easier to get in and out. Each bed has a lockable drawer under the bed, and a light, power outlet, and shelf. A simple curtain goes a long way to adding to privacy. The mattresses were thin though and I found them a bit uncomfortable at times.

Dorm

The shared bathrooms were kept clean and fresh during my stay.

Bathroom

A simple breakfast of cereal, toast, and tea and coffee is provided for free. There is also a kitchen for self-catering.

Breakfast

The wifi was available throughout the property and I had no problems connecting.

Overall I enjoyed my stay here. If you’ve been backpacking around Europe and staying in hostels without any privacy, then these self-contained capsules will offer some privacy without having to pay for a whole room to yourself.

Book the Dream Cube Hostel online or search for more hostels in Barcelona.
