Hotel Review: Atrium Bangkok

June 16, 2014 By James Clark

Hotel Review: Atrium Bangkok

Hotel Name: Atrium Bangkok
Address: 1880 New Petchaburi Road, Bangkok – Thailand.

[I stayed as a guest of Atrium Bangkok, which has since been rebranded to the AVANI Atrium Bangkok.]

I have passed the Atrium Bangkok many times in my travels in Bangkok, usually from the express canal boat which passes by. The hotel is a bit of a landmark with the little spaceship dome sitting on the roof so it is hard not to miss.

During my stay here I was in an Executive Room on the top floor.

The south facing rooms have a spectacular view of the Sukhumvit skyline and it is a beautiful site at night when it is all lit up.

The pool and gym is on the 4th floor and features a cafe area.

As I was staying in the Executive Room I had breakfast available on the ground level restaurant and in the Executive Lounge on the top floor.

Afternoon tea (or in my case, coffee) in the Executive Lounge.

Wifi is free for all guests in the rooms and public areas.

Location And Transport
The Atrium Bangkok is located on New Petchaburi Rd about a 10 minute walk from the Petchaburi MRT station. This station connects to the Makkasan airport rail link to Suvarnabhumi (BKK) Airport. Both city and express lines stop there. The hotel offers a shuttle service to the MRT and airport link so I took the express train when leaving Bangkok. There is also shuttle services to different points of central Bangkok throughout the day so I planned my travels accordingly.

The hotels sits next to the Saen Saep canal with the Khlong Saen Saep express boat making a useful east-west transit option, and on the other side of the canal are the back streets of the Sukhumvit area.
