Apartment Review: Apartment Central, Šibenik – Croatia

September 18, 2021 By James Clark

Apartment Review: Apartment Central, Šibenik - Croatia

Hotel Name: Apartment Central.
Address: Ante Starčevića 3, Šibenik, Croatia.

I stayed at Apartment Central in Šibenik, Croatia. I booked online at the rate of €25.20 per night, and I booked it for its price and location in Šibenik.

Apartment accommodation is usually the cheapest option for private rooms in Croatia, and you will rarely find hotels that are cheaper. Most of the apartments are listed on major hotel booking sites such as Booking, and you can also look on Airbnb.

I’ve been enjoying the apartment accommodation experience during my travels in Croatia, apart from the checking-in experience. The two biggest drags are not having an efficient key retrieval system, and not being able to drop your bags off if you arrive early. I had to wait in a cafe until I could check-in, but at least the key system was straightforward.

The Apartment Central is indeed a central apartment. The apartment is near the square at the library that leads into the old town. I prefer not to stay within old towns, because they are usually easy to get lost in, and full of tourists.

Pet shop and apartment

The Apartment Central is above a row of shops, with the stairs outside in an enclosed courtyard.

Apartment entrance

The apartment is technically a studio apartment, but it has enough floor space to be a spacious one-bedroom unit. In fact, the room has windows on three sides, making it feel even larger.

Studio apartment

The bed was a double. In reality, it is a twin room with the beds pushed together.

Apartment bed

The studio has enough space for a lounge area that isn’t using the bed as a lounge. There is free wifi here, and I had a good connection in my room.

Apartment lounge

There is a kitchen and kitchen table set as well. I never use the kitchen so I didn’t check if it was useful for self-catering.

Kitchen

The size of the bathroom didn’t match the rest of the apartment. The shower was in a small bathtub, and the hot water system gets in the way of half the bathtub area.

Bathroom

The apartment has a view of one of the main churches outside the city (I think it translates as “Church of Our Lady outside the City”), so I got an early morning church-bell wake-up call.

View from apartment

Overall this was a good place to stay in Šibenik. It was great value for such a large room, and it was a great location to go exploring the old city. It’s also easy enough to walk to the bus and train station.

Book the Apartment Central online, or search for more hotels in Šibenik.
