Hotel Review: Rivendell Guest House, Windhoek – Namibia

March 30, 2015 By James Clark Leave a Comment

Hotel Name: Rivendell Guest House
Address: 40 Beethoven Street, Windhoek, Namibia

Rivendell Guest House, Windhoek - Namibia

I stayed at the Rivendell Guest House in Windhoek, Namibia. I booked online via Agoda and booked it for its price and location. The guesthouse is in a suburban street close to the central business district.

The guesthouse is a house set on a large property, comprising of the main house, a reception house, and more rooms at the back by the swimming pool. I booked a private room with a shared bathroom.

My room was at the back of the property near the swimming pool.

The bathroom was in the main house. The bathroom was spacious and clean, but it was the only share bathroom for the rooms. In such cases I usually get up early to have a shower to avoid the queue for the bathroom when everyone else is getting up.

There is a well organised kitchen with all the cooking facilities you need, plus drinks and snacks for sale. The guesthouse is in a suburban area so you need to plan your eating options. There is a large supermarket in the CBD, about ten minutes walk from the guesthouse.

One thing I love about guesthouses in converted houses is how homely they feel. The house also has a house cat named Frodo (in keeping with the Lord of the Rings theme). The wifi signal didn’t reach my room so I was hanging out here for internet.

Book the Rivendell Guest House online, or search for more hotels in Windhoek.
